That trip was the first time I'd ever been to Manchester, not counting my trip to the Coronation Street set when I was a kid. It was cool, I liked it, and I ate chips in gravy with an orange Tango in the rain. And sketched a lot. And spent good time with many nice people.

Five years ago today, it was the third (of four) day of the Manchester USk Symposium, another very memorable time. On that day I sketched Castlefields in Veronica Lawlor's workshop, attended Rita Sabler's ace talk, & then then of course drinks at the Peverell of the Peak.

Eleven years ago today the first Urban Sketching Symposium opened in Portland, a really fun and exciting few days, for me the first time I'd met my online urban sketching friends in person, plus meeting many new friends too. #pdx2010 #urbansketchers #portland

Thirteen years ago today (13!!!) I sketched Alamo Square in San Francisco, where I finally returned and sketched again last Saturday. A few new buildings in the background have sprung up in those intervening years. #sanfrancisco #urbansketchers #alamosquare

Five years ago today I was sketching in London, another hot day, started down at the river Thames, one of my favourite views, drawing a skyline that is already different, ended with a nice evening at the pub with @roshabides and co. Damn I miss #London innit!

I sketched a lot on that day in Charleroi, for such a hot day, when I didn't get out sketching until nearly lunch. That's Lucky Luke on the horse; I told my son he was named after him. Ended up sketching the Irish Times pub I used to go to when it first opened in the year 2000.

Two years ago today...it was very, very hot in Europe, I was in Charleroi #Belgium for the first time in years. Good to be back. "You've come from California...to Charleroi?!?" the hotel clerk said. Yep! But wow, it was super hot. Amazed I could draw anything.
