Happy 31st birthday I don't think anything has influenced my life as an artist more than this show. It inspired me when I was little, it made me feel better when I was a sad, lonely kid and it's a major part of my artistic output to this day!

With hindsight, it's easy and even cathartic to poke fun at the weirdly on-the-nose and overly earnest superhero art of this day. But there was something we needed, at the time, in that earnestness, in that accessibility.
