I hate it so fucking much. P5 is far from what a persona 5 game should be. Don’t get me wrong the gameplay is cool and I’m glad they brought back demons, but the story is so overrated and washed out that it’s unbearable to talk about it. Play it (but don’t play it).
SMT 1 is the first mainline game, so there’s obviously some gameplay issues that I would have wanted differently. Like every other mainline game, the story is a massive mindfuck. Overall it’s a pretty solid game and I would recommend playing it, just bear with the bugs.
Kicking things off with Persona 3 (FES). I played this when I was about 13 and it’s really what got me into the franchise as a whole. The story aged like milk but the combat and mythos included is what really drove me to play other games. I would recommend it if you’re new.
