One of my students has been battling with this painting for a couple of days. I’ve been urging her to loosen up and throw some paint at it. Today, she got a big brush and painted out the background in sky blue, thereby simplifying and improving the whole. She left, smiling!

As part of learning how to teach remotely, I’ve had to consider how much time my students need to finish a piece. I’ve tried addressing this by noting how much time I spend on my own work. This is one of the paintings (unfinished) I’ve been working on. #imaginedlandscapes
