Early Pokedex:
In 1996, a Pokedex book with unique entries was released in Japan. It was never officially translated, so we hired Gen 1's localizer Nob Ogasawara to translate the whole thing into English. Fair warning, it's 90 minutes long: https://t.co/STOdL7k8rt
Gen 5's Definitive Edition:
In some newly-translated interviews, devs say they initially thought they'd make a third version for Gen 5, not two sequels. But they go out of their way to say Gray wouldn't work. Here's some possibilities.

Beta Dwebble & Crustle:
According to Gen 5's art director Ken Sugimori, Dwebble & Crustle were originally "Furnace Pokemon" with ceramic shells made of kiln-fired pottery. To hear more about early Unova from Game Freak devs, check out this 22min video: https://t.co/9QvJQlEl0y
Elgyem Origins:
Since Unova's based on New York, many of its Pokemon draw inspiration from NY and American culture. Like Elgyem, who the Pokedex says "are linked to a UFO crash site in the desert 50 years ago"... a reference to Roswell. More Gen 5 trivia: https://t.co/9QvJQlEl0y
