@Lewchube In SM Ash was an outlier cause he was still based on himself rather than just a modern reference. Kinda like how when May returned in DP her eyes still had the gen 3 style

@Lewchube Of course not, I'm saying the anime is catching up to the current game art style. Alola gang was already based on it so there's no reason for them to look different. Ash just caught up this gen.

I still prefer sprites for many older Pokemon but many of the ones created for 3D wouldn't be the same without it, for a Mon like Sirfetch'd both its proud/smug resting stance and more serious sword poses are a core part of its identity

Torterra is my favourite starter and 2nd overall fave Mon so was a pleasure to get to draw him again, it's been too long~
