I didn't even think of this before but Sakurako's hair is kinda reminiscent of Sakura's in the way it goes over her ears, it's definitely still a stretch to say that she was inspired by CCS even before the clever anime casting but would be pretty cool

The way Satoshi gets his Mons in this series I think more than ever, encapsulates the core of his character. It was never primarily about trainer skills, but the love he has for Pokemon. His "pity" badges were not cop outs, they were lessons. He earned both them, and this team.
