19 December 1910. Baron Yoshitoshi Tokugawa (24 July 1884 – 17 April 1963), a Lieutenant General in the Imperial Japanese Army, flew Japan's first successful powered aeroplane flight (a Farman biplane) at Yoyogi Parade Ground, (presently Tokyo's Yoyogi Park).

17 December 1913. During the war with Morocco, a Lohner ‘Flecha’ B-1 of the Spanish Aeronáutica Militar used a 1912 Carbonit bombsight purchased in Germany to conduct the first systematic bombing in history by dropping 10 kilogram bombs on the plain of Ben Karrix in Morocco.

16 December 1944. Beginning of The Battle of the Bulge (also known as the Ardennes Offensive and the Von Rundstedt Offensive). To support the offensive, the Luftwaffe had assembled some 2,460 combat aircraft, including 1,770 single-engine fighters.

15 December 1939. First flight of the Kimura HK-1. Japanese glider prototype to investigate the possibilities of tailless aircraft. It was a single-seat design with an open cockpit, swept wings, and a single tail fin.

14 December 1915. First Canadian aerial combat victory when Flight Sub Lieutenant Arthur Ince, a RFC Observer flying a Nieuport 10 with Flight Sub-Lieutenant Graham shot down a German seaplane off the coast of Belgium. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.
