23 June 1943. Oberleutnant Armin Faber of Stab III/JG2 "Richthofen" in combat over Devon with Sergeant Trejtnar of 310 Squadron. Shortly afterwards, Faber's FW190 fell intact into Allied hands when he mistakenly landed at RAF Pembrey.

The Junkers JU-87D-3 Stuka dive bomber was evaluated with a personnel pod mounted above each wing. The pods could be released during a shallow dive and be 'paradropped' to deliver agents behind enemy lines. The scheme, however, never became operational.

8 June 1966. XB-70 Valkyrie prototype was destroyed in a mid-air collision. Chief Test Pilot Joe Walker (F-104 pilot) and Carl Cross (XB-70 co-pilot) were killed, while Al White (XB-70 pilot) ejected, sustaining serious injuries.
