Toward the end of the mentorship I finally picked up a VR Headset for sculpting. I'd always loved seeing @fmacmanus's art and these were my first couple tests with @tiltbrush @GravitySketch and #AdobeMedium (8/15)
I also took @ArmandSerrano's online mentorship, learned a ton more from him, and added onto my Yggdrasil's Rest project.
I 100% recommend his mentorship and he still has signups open for spring on his site (https://t.co/14MNUdYx0C) (7/15)
Early in the year I started doing this personal project called Yggdrasil's Rest for class. Not for any big hopes of turning it into anything, but I've kept it around to have a world I can come back to when I learn new techniques, which'll show up later. (2/15)
My close friends bought me WoW so I tried turning it into an opportunity to study some of the designs. The game was a huge part of our teenage years, so all the new stuff's been an adjustment..
Some of these were rough/rushed and thats ok, too.
Though, I love artists whose early decisions carry so much weight where you can imagine more of the painting from their implications. @devinkorwin, @tiffaniemangart, @ZacDRetz, @NathanFowkesArt are current ppl that come to mind
I also bounced around and did a few masterstudies. tryina look at markmaking, values and color. I'm no match for the real paintings, tho, so check them out.
Artists referenced are James Morgan, Danil Volkov, Jae Cheol Park
I got a new phone w/ a stylus & did a few still lives to test the newer app features. Im typically really inconsistent and was in a bad art/mental funk so when my buddy was like 'hey bro wanna do 30 days of studies' i was like 'uhhhhhhhh idk sure can i just do phone paintings'
