September 28, 1854: Painter Ignác Roskovics is born in Slavkovce 🇸🇰 († 1915). His work spans many classifications: frescoes, altar paintings, iconostases, portraits, genre scenes, still lifes, & book illustrations. Roskovics was a representative of the Munich School realism.

August 7, 1906: Dezider Milly, artist & professor, is born in Kyjov 🇸🇰 († 1971). His unique style combined various artistic currents of the 20th c. and took motifs from the Carpathian landscapes and Rusyn society.
