…plus, the AoA version of Hank McCoy, aka Dark Beast, conducts barbaric experiments on mutants that Apocalypse has labeled as “unfit,” and one of En Sabah Nur’s four Horsemen and own son is literally named “Holocaust”…

…but Apocalypse’s tactic of intentionally breaking a peace-treaty signed with the Human High Council and expanding his empire to Europe bears a lot of parallels to how Hitler infamously violated the non-aggression pact he signed with Stalin by invading Russia during WWII…

…many mainstream X-Men storylines ever since the Chris Claremont era have simultaneously portrayed Erik struggling with falling prey to ideologies of mutant supremacy, as he fears that such a path could turn him into someone just like those who once persecuted him…

I’ve always found the AoA version of Magnwto to be such a compelling alternate interpretation of the iconic Master of Magnetism!

While his mainstream counterpart is easily the most well-rounded and complex in regards to his experiences as a Holocaust Survivor…

Ya know… as chillingly powerful and effective this Rorschach flashback from WATCHMEN is to this very day, it’s kinda hard for me to not feel a bit more squeamish about it now that I actually own a German Shepherd puppy…

...though one negative side-effect was when Marvel's marketing department forced the writers of the SPIDER-MAN: CLONE SAGA to imitate AoA's success with both the storyline "Maximum Clonage" also being stretched out with an Alpha & Omega issue...
