I love how HYDRA's negative co-opting of Ms. Marvel's likeness for their gentrification advertisement wasn't neatly resolved by the end of the arc, demonstrating that some problems can't be easily solved.

Also, love THE DARK KNIGHT reference here!

...plus, Mike herself is shown to be a smart, funny, and well-rounded character that the narrative doesn't frame in a negative light!

So yeah... I love how MS. MARVEL avoids the tired love-triangle tropes by instead having Kamala & Mike become friends instead of rivals!

...but when Kamala is forced to work with Mike as Ms. Marvel after Bruno is kidnapped and brainwashed by HYDRA, she quickly realizes that Mike legitimately does love Bruno and the two quickly bond over their shared fears, anxieties, and teamwork...

While most love-triangle plots will cheaply either have the protagonist be continuously jealous or reveal their rival to be a jerk...

Oh boy… considering that Hope Yard’s hipster CEO Chuck Worthy would later become an overt stand-in for Donald Trump later on during the “Election Day” & “Mecca” arcs, him accosting Tyesha on the sidewalk simply because she’s a black Muslim woman sadly isn’t all that shocking…
