My unpublished illustration for @nprcodeswitch from last year, for a story on the culture of silence in marginalised Muslim American communities, in regards to mistreatment and harassment of women by senior leadership at the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

When the Indian Ocean Tsunami swept over South Asia in 2004, nearly 80% of those who drowned were women & children. Since 2005, the Sri Lanka Women's Swimming Project has worked to address why women don't learn the crucial survival skill.

At the EDDs we were tasked with engaging visitors across the two days of the event, & talking to them about their ideas of what it means to be a heroine. We encouraged them to share stories of inspirational women in their lives & created quick visuals based on these experiences.
