Happy Pride Month! #PrideMonth
For June, I'm planning to make artwork inspired by pride flags.
The first on my list is #bipride 💗💜💙

What I'm happiest with? Going from zero art in months, to making artwork everyday, feeling like myself again ❤️ Was hard to find the time some days, and we missed a few, for sure - I'm still happy I completed this #MaySketchADay the best I could.
Feels like an achievement!

Speaking of brushwork -- WHEW! I think my biggest improvement was definitely in technique.
Directional strokes, working with opacity, layering and mixing colors, soft vs hard edges, the impact of the correct undercolor... I'm excited to implement these in some original artwork!

The same goes for landscapes, though I haven't painted NEARLY enough of those. There's a fair bit of improvement still visible though, mostly in terms of brushworks. Most importantly, I no longer feel scared of painting backgrounds - yay!

So much depends on consistency and volume of work. There's an age-old advice artists are given to improve: "Fail faster" -- it really is the quickest way to get better.
The two top images are from the start of May, the bottom ones are the last two images I painted.
