If you can’t envision mers of color, your imagination has failed. The ocean is the most diverse place on earth — to insist that all mermaids need to be white (and young, and thin) is racist and ridiculous. Some of my BIPOC and/or darker skinned MerMay mers, in support of Halle ✨

Final #AugustAdipose drawing. I was inspired by a pic sent by a friend and did my own version of this dress. These are my OCs (housekeeper) Mrs. Hedges and Otis Langley. She dotes on him and makes him special recipe pickles. He’s 25 and still affectionately calls her Hedgehog ♥️

Another #AugustAdipose! I saw this still from Emma. and was intrigued by the lighting. Wanted to try a similar pose with different MCs. This was a good lesson that I need more practice lighting darker skin. My fave part of monthly challenges are the moments of actual challenge.

I’ve only just learned that #AugustAdipose exists and so I’m jumping in. Might not manage a daily piece but I hope to draw several larger bodies this month! First endeavor from last night: evolving this 1880s dress to fit a big, beautiful belle of the ball. Quick, simple lines ✨
