Tropical Cyclone #Freddy, as seen over the past 4 days by @eumetsat's #Meteosat weather sat.

Sadly, Freddy will make landfall in Madagascar today, but weather sats allow constant monitoring of cyclones: Enabling better forecasting and accurate warnings for those in the path.

Another day of severe #storms for Western Saudi Arabia.

This video, using data from @eumetsat's #Meteosat shows a line of storms moving across the coast from the Red Sea.

These are huge storms, the largest reached -87C - corresponding to an altitude of around 21km!

At the time of the tragic #AirIndiaExpress #IX1344 crash there was a large storm passing over #Karipur.

This @eumetsat satellite data shows the storm (red) with the @flightradar24 flight path overlaid.

The flight made a go-around before crashing on the second landing attempt.
