Lyonel Feininger (1871-1956) was a German-American painter, and a leading exponent of Expressionism. He also was a caricaturist and comic strip artist. He was born and grew up in New York, going to Germany to study and perfect his art. At 36, he began to work as a fine artist.
Sheldon Moldoff (1920–2012) was a comic artist known for his work on Hawkman and Hawkgirl. He was one of Bob Kane's main ghost artists (uncredited) on Batman. He co-created the villains Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, the 2nd Clayface, and Bat-Mite. Here's 2 dynamic Hawkman commissions.
