Then again: it IS a Warner Bros. Picture
C'mon @WarnerArchive; we need a better blu-ray/DVD release of The Nutcracker Prince (unless Goodtimes/Gaiam owns rights given the 2004 DVD release)
That king in the Hardnut Story of "The Nutcracker Prince" bears some resemblance to Yosemite Sam; bears he not?
More character shots from the Hardnut Story sequence of Paul Schibli's The Nutcracker Prince (1990, Lacewood Productions/Warner Bros.)
If you like this enough, you can watch the whole film here: https://t.co/8lAbR0u5nn
and Merry Christmas to the special's creative team: @chrisbattleart @andybialk @3optic @Fyre_flye @CrackMcCraigen @tarastrong @jhaletweets @vincentaniceto @steflovescheese @nate_cash @HaciendaTim @wolfboy74 @shinypinkbottle @jlvmusic @RealTomKenny Joel Valentine & Joseph Holt too
I discovered this underappreciated Christmas special back in 2018 on AMC called "Buster & Chauncey's Silent Night", directed by Hanna-Barbea producer Buzz Potamkin. Dan Haskett (Beany & Cecil, Tom and Jerry Tales) did all Character Design and was the main Storyboard artist.
More shots from the nearly 15-minute "Hardnut Story" sequence of The Lacewood Productions' The Nutcracker Prince (A Warner Bros. Picture). Visually, this resembles a late 1950s-era Chuck Jones cartoon. The 2D animated film and its artists & animators are underappreciated.
Some more angsty Cigarettes the Cat scenes from Icebox/Spümcø's Weekend Pussy Hunt episode 10... with proof that big-shot/Disney animator *KEN BOYER* did layout for this. Also note background designer Mr. Dwight Cushman.
Cigarettes the Cat panting and looking around frantically, from Icebox/Spümcø's Weekend Pussy Hunt episode 10. Layout by *KEN BOYER* & Matt Danner; clean-up features Fred Osmond & Ray Morelli; introducing Eric Bauza as one of Spümcø's then-new production assistants.
