On this day 15 years ago, @IanFlynnBKC’s & @yardleyart’s first Sonic comic was published!
The blurb on the comic’s cover, “out of the blue,” was apt, as they came out of nowhere and redefined the look & feel of Sonic comics as a whole.

This is purely speculation, but it seems likely that the FCBD issue will likely feature content from this, rather than being its own thing.

Enerjak is an ancient, godlike, chaos-fueled villain from Archie Sonic.
Dimitri, an ancestor of Knuckles, turned into Enerjak after absorbing 11 chaos emeralds. Knuckles became him after the Master Emerald was corrupted. Two other echidnas used the name before them. #DailySonic
This early concept artwork for Sonic Battle demonstrates an earlier, less refined version of the game’s final art style. It was drawn in 2002 by the game’s director, Tomoyuki Hayashi.

Scourge was once “Evil Sonic,” Archie Sonic’s alternate universe evil doppelgänger. He became Scourge during a foiled attempt to use the Master Emerald, which left him with chest scars and a green coloration.
He was introduced in Archie Sonic #160. #DailySonic
