After the confession, and their arcs the two of them are finally able to be together without their personal blocks holding them back. Their love saved the universe, and they hold hands a final time, to symbolize their new happiness and their connection coming full circle 💕
It’s not till the portal that we see them hold hands again. They’re back to where they started. They’re happy in the horde and together. They hold hands only once in the episode, and it is Catra grabbing Adora. It’s her trying to get Adora to stay. She is reaching out again.
Until, Adora is left at on the cliff side, trying to fix what is left of her friendship. And Catra is completely closed off, not open to reaching out. This moment forces Adora to let go of her hope of repairing what they had. And they don’t hold hands for a long time after this.
The final straw is in Promise. Adora spends the majority of the episode trying to reach out to Catra, she doesn’t want to let go of their friendship. But throughout the episode we can see Catra reaching out and pulling away more and more with each interaction.
They rarely touch or hold hands other then fighting until Princess Prom. Here, Adora tries to reach out again. But Catra pulls away, and their connection continues to break.
When Adora leaves, we get this scene. Catra is the one to grab her hand, she’s reaching out. Adora drops their touch, because she is pulling away. Adora tries to reach out and get Catra to come with her, but Catra pulls away. This symbolizes them going in two different directions
I literally had to explain to my friend the other night that Glimmer and Bow are romantic, and now Twitter is fighting over it 😭 How can you see these moments and think it’s not romantic???
Bridal hold, reaching for each other in their sleep, the love in their eyes, blushing 💀
