Glimmer’s choices in season 4 are rooted in her grief. She wants to honour her mom, and continue her legacy by ending the war. She isolates herself because of her heightened insecurities, which drives her to make reckless choices. She wants control over her life, and her future.

Finally, after being coronated she is able to talk about how she’s feeling. Although talking is important when grieving, talking about it isn’t going to make the pain go away. This leaves us, the viewer with a character put in a new position of power without the help she needs.

First thing is that everyone deals with loss differently. If there’s anything you take away from this thread, please let it be that! When we start season 4, remember it has been a few months since Angella was stuck in the portal. Glimmer’s appearance has changed significantly.
