Swan Song was the first long utsuge I read. It had a grim setting with a bunch of young adults being trapped due to an earthquake around Christmas Eve. If you decide to read this, keep in mind the main ending will have some very... dark moments. Not for the weak-hearted.
I just realized this is Hinami's full hoodie sprite in Miazora/Sky Full of Stars Interstellar Focus
I get the jeans short shorts thingy, but I dont think ive seen that hoodie + mini-skirt over short shorts combo
Specifically the mini skirt on hoodie, what is that called?
I read eden* since the same company made made ef, and was considered one of the better short VNs. It certainly wasn't bad, and had its moments, but I thought it was just a fine VN to read. It kinda had feelsy moments, but nothing that really got me.
While I generally like H-scenes, I'm not into nukige for many reasons. However, Ultimate Boob Wars actually had a setting and story so ridiculous that I found it amusing. The big boob clan vs small boob clan war. With the oppressed middle boobs having a side route.
Brass Restoration is actually a 100% free Japanese-original visual novel that got an English translation. Sadly I don't really remember much except that I read the childhood friend route and the main character being a dick. I didn't read any other routes.
Kira Kira by Overdrive... wasn't as good as I was hoping. I wasn't a fan of the protag crossdressing gag for most of the common route, and 2 of the routes were super boring and forgettable. That said... both of Kirari's routes are very good and the main reason you'd read this.
Princess Evangile is the first Moonstone VN I read. It was pretty good, albeit it operated with a silly "single guy in an all girls school" setting. However I did like how he had to build up his reputation instead of having everyone love him. Rise was my fav of the main 4 girls.
I attempted to read the original Flowers since it seemed to be a popular yuri/girls love series. I thought it was a bit too dry, but admittedly I didn't get too far. The characters seemed interesting and I could see potential for development. Maybe I'll try again sometime.
Comyu is a very ambitious if a bit disappointing action/chuuni VN series. It had a lot of interesting worldbuilding and plot concepts. Character execution is a bit mixed, but there are interesting ones in there. I look forward to Hello Lady, by the same company, releasing soon.
