#FairyTaleTuesday
Hans Christain Anderson-
"... her skin was as clear and delicate as a rose-leaf, and her eyes as blue as the deepest sea; but, like all the others, she had no feet, and her body ended in a fish's tail."
#FairyTaleTuesday -Spring Art-🌿
I have the most beautiful Morning Glory vine growing by my house.
Every year I imagine among all the many blooms and buzzing bees around it there is also faerie folk in their midst! 🐝🧚♀️ 🍃
So, this year I thought I would paint it. 🎨
#FairyFriday 🧚♂️
This one is from the beautiful cherry tree in front of my house! 🌸
#sketchvsfinal
Here is the first sketch I did for my "Sakura" dryad painting.
#FairyTaleTuesday
I think they may have a #HappilyEverAfter ending- 💖

#FolkloreThursday 📖 #NationalStorytellingWeek
I think maps are natural storytellers all by themselves!

Does anyone else endlessly peer at story maps finding yourself lost for a while to other worlds?
#FairyTaleTuesday 🌹 #BeautyAndTheBeast
I love the Enchanted Rose in the Disney retelling- ✨
The wilting of the rose symbolizes Beauty leaving the Beast, making us wonder if their love is going to last or not.
I created Shimmirians as tiny, elemental beings that care for & awaken plants.
They remind me of 'Sylphs'- mythological air spirits.
The term originates in the 16th-century works of Paracelsus, who describes sylphs as beings of the air, his elementals of air.

Today I have completed my 57th trip around our sun.
I'm not sure how I feel about that, but my outward surface is taking on a slightly more 'old crone-wild & witchy' appearance which I am not too unhappy about!
Wishing everyone a spooky Halloween - 🎃
#FairyFriday
I wonder where these fine, fashionable, fuchsia flower fairies are floating off to today?
(I was inspired by some 18th-century fashion art I came across featuring fancy ladies in big, poofy dresses!)
