"Mine is the way of no way, the plan of having no plan, giving in to the moment and following it to wherever it may lead. And right now, it is leading my foot towards your ass." https://t.co/iwLoOcoPNy
I've talked at length before about how much classic 80s Shiva's goals, inasmuch as she had any, clash so hard with the League's that it should make them incompatible. A world cleansed of chaos and anarchy would be a boring one. But at the same time...
Aircraft carrier-sized bias aside just a bit, this DC Universe contest highlights one aspect of Shiva working for the League that I do enjoy: the idea that this centuries-old organization led by this immortal master planner not only hired but are genuinely intimidated by her.
But maybe I'm not giving him enough credit. I mean, the old codger's like a thousand years old, he's not dumb. He'll probably bring a bunch of his buddies along for the ride, with all the latest gear and weapons and tactics and hey, how did that work for you the last time?
Now let's see:
- Was a member of the League for long enough to head their black ops division.
- Literally trained them in like five different continuities.
- Ra's himself admitted he couldn't stop her and had to resort to throwing the entire batfam at her just to give him a shot. https://t.co/WLxJXpm87F
Here's some from me:
- THE OLD GUARD by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernandez.
- THE GOON by Eric Powell.
- DEAD LEGENDS by James Maddox and Gavin Smith.
- 2000AD in general, and there's a BEST OF 2000AD Collection coming to the US soon. So get that. https://t.co/tvJTRG5MLZ
@ReTaisterTots @deadletterpoets It's a good thing she found a like-minded person to channel all that energy towards healthy means of release.
I'm sure some people might've found it annoying to the point of obnoxiousness, but I so very much love Lady Shiva's non-answers throughout THE QUESTION.
They're both an amusing dialogue quirk and a fantastic form of character expression.
She's not pushing Vic towards a side...
