Artist Sheila Fell was born in Aspatria, Cumberland in 1931. Although she lived in London for most of her later life, she found inspiration from the Cumberland landscape and returned often to paint it.

These were based on images published in gardening magazines and illustrations found in the series of volumes on gardens published by Country Life in the 1920s.

#IvorAbrahams was a sculptor, ceramicist and print maker from Wigan. From 1967–79 his work explored the relationship between art, artifice and nature.
