Hopefully the new Season 24 blu-ray will lead to some reappraisal of Sylvester McCoy's first season. At the time it was new and different - not perfect, but it had it's moments. I liked the seventh Doctor right away.

I was going to colour him entirely in shades of blue and turquoise (based on the scene in Resurrection of the Daleks when he's released from his cryogenic chamber), but then thought that having one side illuminated in red could look particularly good and offer a nice contrast.
