The idea that Cecil won't allow Amanda to take a leave of absence is dark, and feels a little excessive considering the team has Immortal and Bulletproof as backup muscle.
While maybe not a weakness per se, the eyes definitely seem to still be a good spot to get a shot in on a Viltrumite
Kinda fun that this Reaniman has the same design as the previous one, just with his cybernetics swapped to the opposite side. I wonder if the implication is meant to be that they're from the same cadaver.
So this is a super late pay off to the running gag of Mark throwing various items into "space", turns out they all land in London! I was so overjoyed when the show referenced this in episode 2.
Don't love Eve calling people "Drones", feels like show Eve is a lot less motivated by Gen X nihilism, but still, I feel like this conversation is super important to the trajectory of Invincible's future as a character and book.
Then, in true Kirkman fashion, we get a cheeky "Where I Really Come From" reference splash page.
Another fun panel reference, I love the change up with it being Monster Girl, as it ends up giving Robot and Amanda a great excuse to bond. Also fun that we get a look at Samson's undersuit.
I think I can speak for most fans that when BB just left, he became an instant favorite
Like with the exception of Battle Beast, the Guardians hold their own incredibly well in the comic.
Though I do love that in the show: Robot shoves Rae into Magmaniacs stomach, and she like explodes him, vs Ray giving him a brain aneurysm in the comics??
I actually really love the shows choice to have this battle happen before Immortal's return and Bulletproof joining so that the fight is way more even and the stakes feel a lot higher.
(Also, I love that this GOTG lineup is an Avengers homage vs the Og's JL homage)
