Another absolute fucking badass. Arios plays the troubled hero so so well. His talent and renown feel so unattainable in the beginning of Zero, so you spend the whole game looking up to him. And then his role in Azure is just... I just love it. I cannot wait to see him again.

Omg how fucking badass in Aurelia. I figured she was going to be just another threatening villain, but instead she's a threatening ally! And it works so well. I love a dangerous mentor figure, and I feel like it's done perfectly here. Plus so many great interactions.

Yes, this is my Crossbell bias showing again, but I like Lloyd just a bit more than Estelle. He starts out a bit more mature, yet still has a great arc of growth.

I feel like he gets fantastic interactions and dynamics with the entire cast, and I loved having him as a protag!

Is liking Rixia a meme? Idk but I think she's great. She's super enigmatic and vaguely threatening in Zero which is super fun, and then in Azure she gets this great sadboi role that I find super endearing. The trust she and the SSS have in each other feels so earned.

Lechter gets a fantastic introduction in 3rd, and proceeds to steal the show yet again in Zero/Azure. His laid-back demeanor makes him so damn lovable, seriously.

I was beyond hyped to see how they'd use him in a villain role in CS, but honestly I was a bit underwhelmed. Oh well

So I wrote out the next tier a while back but the whole draft thread got wiped before I could publish it so I felt disheartened 😭
I do want to finish this thread though, so I'll get over myself and type it up again.

On to A Tier. We got some great characters to talk about!

How can you not love Tio? She's hilariously sassy, with so many great lines in Zero/Azure. Her skills feel earned and specialized, yet she never feels overpowered. Plus her backstory only makes her more lovable!!

Tio is the perfect example of a Trails character done right.

Another unflinching badass, Arianrhod. She's so mysterious and fascinating for the majority of the series. If she's here, you know shit is about to go down.

Her backstory doesn't totally land for me, but that's more CS's fault than hers. A fantastic character.

Selnate has only been depicted a couple times, but I already love her. She's an unflinching badass who doesn't take shit from anyone. And she has an affinity for Toval? She's fantastic.

I want to meet her so bad. The in-game Carnelia book was not enough.
