here are the turnarounds! these are some of the first things i did for the book (i worked mostly in page order, as per usual, which i would not recommend!).

banter is also an old character from That Site. i made this crazy halloween interactive comic thing in like 2013; it was a lot of fun! it's an idea/format i might explore in the future; it was basically an elaborate tumblr askblog, written by user input https://t.co/dojYoOfw4j

this isn't even the first time i've tried to rehabilitate this character in a non-derivative context - years later, i tried to make a (also fake) sickeningly edgy post-apocalyptic action RPG with him, reimagined as a rocket raccoon-esque genetic experiment

that squid is a reference to bloop, a blooper recolor and YoshiEgg's sidekick, and his new namesake is that of a YoshiEgg side character, this recolor of silver the hedgehog from sonic and the black knight, who debuted in a kingdom hearts spin-off. yeah.

i've mentioned it a couple times during this project, but i used to be an administrative editor on a wiki for video game fanfiction. i am happy to report that i have shoehorned my old tom nook recolor into the cartoon.

i kept erika pretty consistent in the redesign; her hair is just too nostalgic for me. i was always going for a scene-inspired thing. i know it's an incredibly tired cliche to have Badass Girl With Streak In Hair, but i wanna subvert that a little with her in a fun way.
