Painting with my daughter in NC over Zoom. As you can see, I did a duck. He could be much better...I was focused more on chatting then painting...I will do him again.
A #watercolor painting using the new expensive sable brush...it’s remarkably different from the synthetics. In many ways I am having to relearn the basics. Two over-worked roses in a vase.
The #painting evolves. This was always meant to be a trial and error work to help me learn different things. Here's the latest...representing about 3 days of work (making both major & minor adjustments). I'm not great at color mixing/matching...so skin tones can be inconsistent.
After work I spent time moving the baby’s right eye 1/8” to the right and readjusting everything else as a consequence. Question: Halo for Jesus or no? It is split 50:50 on classical Madonna and Child paintings ...
Using this #painting to play w/ different brush strokes/colors. Spent two days on her face...tried all sorts of stuff. Just started the baby’s face - playing w/ shape, & orientation. Tons more work ahead. I will likely reposition Mary’s eyes, again. Perhaps darken shadows...
An experiment with a Koi. I will likely do more as I think I can do much better.
Water. More detail on the hull. Started thinking sails. The rigging will be a challenge. I think the sky is too bright...
Another large (24x16) sunflower. Not pleased with the background. #watercolorpainting
I needed something new and different so I rough sketched a Rafael onto a used canvas. We’ll see where it goes.
Started this #painting this morning. It's Buford's (NY) cavalry at #Gettysburg. I'm having fun. I'm not agonizing over details (yet). All the figures were sketched using paints and I'm adjusting as I go.
