More G1 Action Master concepts tonight. This time we have Superion who comes with a transforming attack bike that acts very similar to the one that Prowl came with in the line. I love that he comes with extra wings to fly instead of cannons.

Continuing with more unused Action Master concepts tonight. This time we have Perceptor and Metroplex. Looking at Perceptor and and the Magnus design i showed yesterday it appears the main gimmick for this wave would of been shoulder attachments like cannons and wings.

He would come as part of a set with a vehicle to drive. His vehicle would of been a container truck that would separate into a small base and a Tracked tank when transformed. The base would also contain a spring loaded launcher gimmick to send the tank into battle.

Looking at the caption the base form would of been the car mode then you would fold and change it from there to get the rest of the alternate modes.

Getting a six changer transformer in G1 took several attempts before we got close to the final Sixshot design. The first design eventually was reworked into Quickswitch with the "V6" on its chest being a special identifier for how many modes he has.

Another design created later got rid of the armor gimmick and made it just a robot that just transforms from a fossil. I think a lot of these designs where in reaction to Bandai's Rocklords so they where prepared to act if it was popular concept.

The other design shown shows an Ammonite in green rocks. Here's its Fossil mode, robot and armored robot modes.

It seems like during G1 someone at hasbro/takara wanted fossils to be in G1. The first attempt had the fossilized characters using the rock/ice they where encased in as extra armor in robot mode. Here's a mammoth design with its fossil mode, its normal robot and it armored robot.

Some of the earlier concepts for G1 Sixshot where very strange with this early 5 mode design looking like a rubik's snake.

So I've been going through the captions for the early ideas for the G1 Pretenders and they looked a lot more like He-Man characters. Initially the robot and human would of been one figure with the flesh removable.
