We’ve allowed pop culture 2 drive/define scope of social status, esp. thru digital means. Tentpole programming like, dare I say, #theMandalorian (I really enjoy it). But it has rekindled what #StarWars really means for some v. what people think (rightly or wrongly) it has become.

We also had deregulation in #Reagan era. TV, Toys & Comics were “vehicles” for driving corp Ponzi schemes on on kids & their families. Even breakfast cereals were in on it. I think @RetroBlasting did a spot on this on YouTube once. But the marketing worked. Ffwd 30+ yrs later...

Of course I grew up a kid in #the70s & #the80s where #StarWars was most prominent. In some cases it was unavoidable. I often call it a trifecta of pop cultural entertainment: Toys, TV/Film & Comics. Everything from Marvel/DC, #GIJoe, #HeMan, #Transformers. You name it, we had it
