It's been about 15 years. I was obsessed with werewolves and wanted more stories where they were happy being wolves. Then I discovered Goldenwolf's artwork in middle school and tumbled head first into cute animal art.

It's funny. I named my original fursona Galileo partially because it could be shortened to "Gal." He was a flamboyant, feminine, girl of a boy. He helped me explore as much of that as I could "as a man" and got me to this point. *Sigh* He's so pretty.
I had just started making trans friends. And somehow more and more trans people made their way into my life. Listened to all of the times I doubted myself, encouraged me to be brave and let myself try new things. It's terrifying at first, but also the most freeing thing.
When I first created her, she was a "male" character who used she/her pronouns and had female body characteristics. I remember a friend asking "why isn't she just a girl?" It was because I wanted her to be like me. I wanted to be connected to her.
My name Evie comes from a secret fursona I created: Evie! I used her to explore presenting as female online and commissioned art of her to work through my gender feelings.
