@joeplazek tallied up some serious stats in our country!
Championships at Weedsport,Canandaigua and a battle Royal against the Dr., Danny Johnson at Ransomville for a 358 Championship were some of Joe's accomplishments!
68 total Big Block wins 6 total @SuperDIRTcar victories !
With out a doubt the strongest team to ever invade the 🇺🇸 soil from the great northern border was that of @joeplazek .
Joe and his Plazek Auto Recyclers race team took their racing seriously and took it to the competition many times!
His performance in @SuperDIRTcar was historic
Dave Blaney has had success in the sprint cars at Syracuse, so driving a big block modified there should be a walk in the park for this Ohio speedster! He was fast each time with a victory within his sights only to not have lady luck step in and not allow it to happen! Wheelman
Tommy Corellis is as tough of a race car driver that you will ever find. Being the "BAD Guy", wearing the Black hat was something Corellis had no issue with. At Syracuse, Tommy was a sure shot to win on many occasions, but "lady luck" got in his way! We knew he was there for sure
Most thought that Ken Brenn,Jr was a one track wonder with his dominance at Flemington. Not true! East Windsor was a track he was quick at as well. But when it can to the Moody Mile ,Kenny went loaded for bear each year! He was fast and a sure shot to win,but he came up short! 🏁
Who would have ever thought that all of the big races and championships that Tampa,Florida's racing legend Will Cagle has won over the years, he was not able to capture the Grand Daddy of them all on the Syracuse mile during @SuperDIRTcar Super Dirt Week.
He was tough as nails!
This week @wrenchtwister00 will focus a few days on the drivers that came
"OH so close" or "should have won" the
Crown Jewel on the Moody Mile in Syracuse, NY if circumstances would have gone their way ! Than look for a "BAD ASS" tribute to some drivers that won this classic!🏁
I remember one night back in the 70,s at Bridgeport watching a old station wagon towing a trailer with no fenders on it or tire rack and this "rat trap" of a race car on it! At the end of the night this car and a young Billy Pauch kicked everyone's ASS !
Oh what a career he had!
Mark Kinser had huge shoes to fill when he went racing! To say he filled them well would be accurate! Passing thru Pa ,Mark won 2 @WilliamsGrove National Opens. 1995 and 1999 he was able to accomplish this feat! Being a Kinser, what else would you expect?
Stevie Smith a true student of the sport! Having grown up hanging with his legendary dad Steve Smith. Stevie took to the road but still clicked off 3 @WilliamsGrove National Open victories in 1989,90 and 2015! Today Stevie owns a highly successful racing business ! 🔧
