Some drivers have words on the race track? Some drivers take care of it after the race? In these series of photos it is said that Tim Richmond gave Neil Bonnett a ear full in this 1987 All-Star line up poster ! On or off of the race track these 2 racers like to have some fun! 😂

The practice session before the 1994 Daytona 500 was tragedy filled. Not only did our sport lose Neil Bonnett a few days later we lost Champion racer Rodney Orr. After investigating both crashes came down to a shock mount that broke. Pictured here is a simular part sample! 🙏

Neil Bonnett spung into action to save his friends. He was able to pull a semi conscious Red Farmer from the wreckage. He than tried to save Davey but was unable to before more medical help arrived. Farmer survived after months of care while Davey passed the next morning . 🙏

Neil Bonnett was testing at Talladega in 1993 and up and coming star Davey Allison and legend Red Farmer decided to fly over to the track and check on the boys. Davey was piloting over in his new helicopter! Upon landing something malfunctioned. The copter crashed. Chaos begun!

That is true! There is a story out there that the pipe fitters union wanted to get Neil to go back to work for them for big money. Neil told them he was not interested in the offer and to never call again. Neil said that he did not want his wife to find that out. https://t.co/fB5P8XF2ek

TV was not enough for Neil !
He still had that desire to race! Dale an Richard Childress had Neil do some testing for their team. Cleared to race again in 1993 and a few races for RCR were unlucky! 1994 Neil lost his life in a practice crash at the season opener at Daytona🙏

An original member of the famed
"Alabama Gang" , Neil had a nature that stood out in a crowd! Bobby Allison gave Neil his shot in racing and he ran with it! Dale Earnhardt was his hunting and fishing buddy helped as well.

The crash put Salt in the hospital with many burns. He did return to race again on and off. A addiction to pain killers lead to legal and personal problems! Bouts with the law. Jail time followed. Salt died of a drug overdose at 65. Life in the fast lane caught up to a sad end.🙏
