Bubby Jones was truly a "BAD ASS " !
In his early age Bubby learned how to cut hair as a barber from fellow racer Larry Cannon. He wanted something to fall back on in case the racing thing did not work out! I would say by the way his career went. Bubby did not cut much hair! ✂️

In 1980, I worked for Larry "Boom Boom " Cannon the entire month of May for the Indy 500. The entire team stayed in a unfurnished apartment, I slept in a lawn chair. We made the 500 with no sponsor. Than Kraco came on board for the race. Started 14 Finished 33

Bud Tingelstad was not your household name in Motorsports, nevertheless he was a racer who scratched and clawed his way to the Indy 500. While he never won it, it was his 3 top 10 finishes and other impressive numbers which made him a favorite among the racing community! 🏁🔧

Al won his last Indy 500 in 1987 replacing a injured Danny Ongais in a Roger Penske car that was used as a "show car" ! A March chassis that was on display !

Jerry Grant had the 1972 Indy 500 victory in his sights with 12 to go. A huge lead over Mark Donahue, Jerry pitted with a punctured tire an missed his pit. Bobby Unser,s crew serviced the car. Mark won, Jerry finished 2nd until 3rd place Al Unser protested dropping Jerry to 12th
