Pac-a-Day 31: Pac-Motos
Pac-Motos, originally released as part of Namco Museum Remix, is a new take on the arcade game Motos where you play as Pac-Man and levels themed after Pac 'n Roll. Knock the enemies off the stage and equip jumping and charging powers!
Pac-a-Day 30: The Creator
Here I have drawn the creator Pac-Man himself, Toru Iwatani! Alongside the original game and some other Namco games like Gee Bee and Libble Rabble, he also designed Super Pac-Man, Pac-Land, Pac-Mania, and his final game, Pac-Man Championship Edition.
Pac-a-Day 29: Famicom Championship
Sometime in the late 2000s, a Famicom/NES homebrew demake of Pac-Man Championship Edition was made. In 2020, a new version of that homebrew was made official and included in Namcot Collection, or Namco Museum Archives Vol. 1 in the West.
Pac-a-Day 26: Boss Ghosts
Unlike Pac-Man Arrangement '96 which only had a single boss, Pac-Man Arrangement '05 featured a boss at the end of each world. They're giant ghosts, usually in machines, but they split into many small ghosts when a Power Pellet is eaten. Eat 'em all up!
Pac-a-Day 25: Pac-Man Arrangement (Console Version)
Pac-Man Arrangement, originally released as part of Namco Museum Battle Collection, is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT game from the Pac-Man Arrangement released in 1996. I'll never understand why they did that. It just causes confusion.
Pac-a-Day 24: Emperor Ghost
Pac-Man Arrangement was the first maze game in the series to feature a boss. Dodge the Kinky Clones and use the Pac-Dots to damage the Emperor Ghost. Watch out for when it spins out of control!
Pac-a-Day 23: Kinky Transformations
Pac-Man Arrangement featured a new ghost, Kinky! Though they could be eaten without a Power Pellet, they had the ability to transform the other four ghosts! These powered-up ghosts are dangerous, but are worth more points when eaten.
Pac-a-Day 19: Pac-in-Time
It's Pac-Man's second platformer, Pac-in-Time! I really like the way this game looks and the rope mechanics are fun! The level design, not so much.
It's surprising and cool to see it be rereleased for the first time ever in Pac-Man Museum+!
Pac-a-Day 18: Cosmo-Panic
Pac-Attack was actually a reskin of the Japan-exclusive game, Cosmo Gang the Puzzle, which was a spinoff of Cosmo Gang the Video, which was based on the redemption game Cosmo Gang. Instead of Pac-Man eating ghosts, it had an orb hitting comical aliens.
Pac-a-Day 17: Anthology Attack
In 1998, Pac-Attack got a remake in the Japan-exclusive Namco Anthology 2, and was also a bonus game in Pac-Man World 2. It featured a space aesthetic, new music, and tweaked mechanics. The novice theme alone makes this my preferred version to play.
