Hang Tuah is one of those legends that was born from real life. He was a real Malay warrior in the 15th century, well known for his courage and loyalty. The Knight of Swords fits him well; it symbolizes bravery and encourages action.

Like the rest of her suit, the Queen of Swords is sharp and fierce. Of all the Queens in the deck, she best represents the concept of tough love; however, she's always fair and principled.

Yemoja, a Yoruban deity, was an obvious choice for the Queen of Cups, given her ties to the subconscious,  water and motherhood. In fact, she's the mother of all deities in the Yoruba pantheon! In a spread, this card represents femininity, spirituality, and intuition.

The Four of Wands is a card of rejoicing and embracing our loved ones before the next adventure! The brave warrior Aravan knows he'll die in battle soon, but for now, he and his new wife Mohini (Krishna's female form) get to party!

Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, has a lot of lessons to learn, but thankfully, he's got plenty of time. Like the Judgment card, his story is all about improvement, absolution, and rebirth.

Temperance is a mutable card, all about being balanced and knowing when to change with the times. The Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara identities are fluid, but their goodwill remains constant. Does this card follow you around? 😉

Inuit stories are often over the top and wildly creative, but this one is just a sweet tale about an old woman who was kind to insects, which were her only source of food. As a reward for her kindness, the insects restored her youth. The lesson: remember to pay it forward!
