I also trace over my old panels and these days, I use vectors for my lineart and can resize them for multiple panels. This is actually the exact same lineart of Shu's head I just copied and stretched for the close up!

and one more: I used this same panel TWICE in the SAME EPISODE

I've even just went from doing regular solid-cutout backgrounds to complete gradients in the same episode. It really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things as long as the audience understands what's going on.

I cut more and more corners as the episode goes on here haha

I also reuse backgrounds and even entire panels all the time. People really don't notice, or if they do, they don't care, and if they do care, then they care too much LOL

I had no drive to remake this bamboo forest from EP8 and instead just reused it in EP25!
