@coragenan There's also Twink Griffith's heterosexuality destroying smile from the Golden Age movies. But it's less about his teeth, it's more about his bishonen charm.
Very well drawn anyway, I think it captures innocence better than the same scene in the manga that looks more mischievous.

Griffith doesn't want to believe that he loves Guts, so he convinces himself that he actually hates him. That Guts made him weak, ruined his life. The only thing keeping him sane while being tortured is this deep "hatred" of Guts. Hate and love, opposite sides of the same coin.
Guts leaving devastates Griffith so fucking much that he forgets about his plan, forgets about his ambition, about who he is as a person. He rapes the princess, and ruins his life. Ruins Casca and everyone else's life. Because he loved Guts, but Guts left him.
This scene. This goddamn scene.
It's episode 19 and this is the first time we hear Griffith's inner voice narrating. It's actually confusing bc we've literally never heard his internal voice until now. And it conveys so much meaning that THIS particular scene is when we hear it.
Because Griffith believes that anyone without the same level of ambition as him could never be his equal. Because if Guts were his equal, he wouldn't be able to excuse the way he makes Guts do his dirty work. If he admits Guts is his equal, he would have to admit he is in love.

@The_GuiltMan @BerserkNChill Adaptation before I'm 30 (20). You line the art up from all the adaptations and 97 art looks as if it was made in the early 2000s. It's so good. The movies and mainly the 2016 anime haven't got as passionate art directing and it's pretty sad for a detailed series like Berserk.
