Fun fact: @ichirou_o, the head writer of Witch from Mercury, got his start in the industry as a writer. In the late 90s he penned multiple Martian Successor Nadesico, Utena, and 08th MS Team novels. The latter got him the attention of Sunrise execs—and by extension, Tomino.

みたいなスタンスが描かれてるのに対して、水星の魔女は
「大人達に中指突き立てる」
みたいな雰囲気になりそうだなって感じた
基本子供達で完結するウテナに対して、水星の魔女は大人達故の束縛がめちゃ強いんだよね
