I just learnt that the Mangaka Mia Ikumi, co-creator of Tokyo Mew Mew died the 7th March... my heaRT IS BROKEN
I was devastated to hear about Mia Ikumi's passing Sunday night. She was one of my biggest inspirations growing up, and Tokyo Mew Mew has always been such an important series to me. I stayed up until 4 am drawing this tribute to her. She will be greatly missed.

I almost can’t believe the news about Mia Ikumi, her artwork has always held such a special place in my heart and I wouldn’t be the artist I am today without her as an inspiration. I hope she knew the positive impact she had on so many lives and how many people she inspired
For Mia Ikumi: Tokyo Mew Mew was my first and remains one of my most favorite anime ever. Thank you for the memories, the mew mews, and the bright, bright days spent dreaming with them. May you rest in peace.
