征海先生の訃報を受けて。今日何故か訃報を知る前に旧デザインに思いを馳せて「いつか描きたい」って思い、今描かないといけない気がしました。ご冥福をお祈りします。

Thank you for being a huge part of my childhood, Tokyo Mew Mew was one of my favourite majokko. 🍓

I owned some of the manga vols & would draw fanart of Ichigo & Zakuro numerous times on my notebooks! I even drew & wrote some terribly written & cringy stories of my Mew Mew oc. Mia Ikumi was the biggest reason why back then I wanted to be an artist. (2/5)

Mia Ikumi had such a huge impact on my childhood. I remember watching Tokyo Mew Mew (Mew Mew Power in the US) every Saturday morning as a kid & later on watched the whole series in Japanese w/ subtitles online! I use to annoy my brother about TMM all the time. (1/5)

Mia Ikumi è morta ed io non ci posso credere.
Voglio ricordarla anche per SuperDoll Rika-chan, mi piaceva molto da bambina.
Non potrà vedere l'effetto che fará il nuovo "Tokyo Mew Mew" a luglio.
Le ragazze torneranno a vivere, anche per lei.

信じられない知らせに言うべきことをあえて見つけることも出来ません。42歳という若さでこの世を去ったことに深い悲しみを表し、征海先生に安らかに眠ることを願うだけです。心から故人のご冥福を祈ります。

Very sad with the news of Ikumi's passing... Tokyo Mew Mew was so important to me as a magical girl fan, it really cemented how much I love this genre.

My first childhood inspiration has passed away. I wouldn’t be an artist if it weren’t for Tokyo Mew Mew. My fondest childhood memory was waking up before dawn to watch it every Saturday. It opened the door to a whole new world for me.

honestly i'm not surprised this is a take going around but i find it really silly that people are complaining about how the tokyo mew mew anime reboot "ruined" the old art style when it's just emulating mia ikumi's current style and designs from the 2020 manga short...
