@Fib_Art I keep ahold of a human musculature sheet for reference. I usually line the muscles or bone structure with a lighter shading tone, fade the edges a little, then do the actual shading, following what I think is the curvature of the back.

@commiserating This is books for me in general; they might as well be an elephant tranquilizer. I *feel* like it's page curvature/lighting that does me in, and I do WAY better on a flat screen/backlighting -- which is to say, I STILL crash so fast I'll bang my head if I'm sitting up 🙄💦💦

@BrachyZoid It’s a lot to do with using cubes. The idea is that round shapes like circles and spheres are hard to interpret in three dimensional space because of their curvature, but looking at a cube or some other prism, it’s easier to make your figures feel more three dimensional. (1/2)
