ラマスの日（Lammas Day）。中世ヨーロッパでは夏にお祝いする、麦の感謝祭で、通常8月初旬（8/1頃）となっています。色々な形や色のパンを焼いたり、麦をリボンで編んだものを軒先に飾ったりしたそうです。パンは大事な食料源。「来年も無事に収穫できるように」という願いもあったのかもしれません。
