I really wanted to sketch an old OC from 2009 for #skillnottalent
There were quite I few times I even quit drawing and I still have a long way to go. Perseverance and being kind to yourself really is key.
(side note, Ell would be 31 this year)

It is amazing how perseverance can make a huge difference in growing your skills as an artist. As long as you keep on practicing logically and follow a system, your effort will be highly rewarded.

Art takes effort, life long learning and most of all perseverance ♥️

#SkillNotTalent 2015 vs 2022
nobody is born good, and even after years of drawing it still feels like im nowhere near where i want to be, but being an artist means persevering through your others' criticism and your own, and the journey lasts throughout your lifetime

Done exactly two years apart, like many other artists, this is what perseverance and hard work on your craft looks like
Almost 10 years of slow progress, of frustrations, and continuous perserverance ✨✨

Growing up, I was never "the art kid"; that was my sister, who got art supplies as birthday presents whereas I got... uh, encyclopedias?
But she had long since stopped drawing. I haven't.
Now I have 20 years of persevering with art. It's effort, it's #SkillNotTalent

with a *lot* of time and perseverance I eventually improved but there's still so much to learn
First two were in 2016, last two were this year. Art is something that improves with time, perseverance, and effort. It is not something that a computer program can vomit out and call, “art.” #SkillNotTalent
