I have a black character named Louise, and I initially did try a lighter skin tone on her palms, but it looked off so I did without it, maybe it's due to not picking the right color or my drawing style, or even both. Besides, it's very common in animation.

marcus’s palms and the soles of his feet are entirely light green, and a lot of artists tend to just do his fingers and toes light green until I correct them. And sometimes folks don’t color the insides of his ears light green either.
