In John Craxton's 'Landscape with Poet and Birdcatcher,' (1942) Lucian Freud is seen holding a bird with a broken wing. It's possibly a reference to Paul Gallico's novella The Snow Goose where a bird rescuing lighthouse keeper dies leading British troops to safety from Dunkirk.

Self initiated work. 'The Treehouse'. Ok, if I can't live in a lighthouse, then a treehouse near the sea is a good plan B. I'm ok with that. https://t.co/62psHr5Rhj #treehouse #treesforlife #greenliving #greenerworld #greendesign #architecturevisualization #greenarchitecture

Picture of the day: Derek Scott "Christmas Visit" (1987) @swanseamuseum The Mumbles lifeboat delivers Christmas parcels to Helwick Lightship. Pictures like this were once a staple of the pre Christmas news. Now lighthouses and lightships are unmanned.

ACTUALLY YK 😔👉👈 this is a good opportunity to show them hi... and reveal my astraeus/venat brainworms to the public world, two past middle-aged lovers. an adventurer and lighthouse (catch me with those words out of original context btw)
Nature's rage in Bretagne, France. Last week I've been chasing storms at the stunning shorelines of Normandy and Bretagne - insane winds and high waves were all over lighthouses! This lighthouse is called du Four, it's 28 m high. Imagine how high the strike was!
The ocean of Plymouth rock has storms that take lives of thousands of sailors every day, and even those who try to escape them by sticking to the coast of France get crushed into the waves.
