Beta Natu:
In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Natu was brown and evolved into Xatu via Heart Stone. But that item got scrapped, so in G&S's release version Natu evolved at level 25.

This isn't easy to admit, but I did spend like, an entire hour perfecting this sprite, to look as authentic as possible to the real thing. No shortcuts taken here, but it felt like recreating JPEG artifacts by hand.
First time doing something more than a small character sprite, any advice going forward? via /r/PixelArt https://t.co/RvM3CdQGhm #pixelart
Beta Gastly:
Gastly was created around 1990, but he didn't look like the Gastly we know today until around 1995 -- his beta sprite and Red, Green, & Blue sprites reveal what he USED to look like.

Reika and Harvey
Reika has something like her maplestory colors (a bit)
when i color selected the lighter part of Harvey's eyes from his sprite, i got a grey purple.. so his eyes are purple here
=7=;
Jotaro in the style of ssf2, it's based on the heritage for the future sprite, but made smaller to fit ssf2.

Another #towergirls styles sprite, this time as a card for @gummifox's lad being paladin companion!
Beta Smoochum:
In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Smoochum was originally a pure Ice-type named "Rippu" (Lip). But she was later renamed, redesigned, and revised to Ice/Psychic.

Dancer Dimitri
The Dancer class is awesome for the boys by itself, but once I saw the Dancer class sprite, had to draw this 😂
#FE3H
#MonsterCrown Release has a new sprite, lookin good. Variants are in the replies!
Beta Remoraid:
Remoraid's Japanese name is Teppouo, meaning "Watergun Fish." This is likely because in Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, his original design was based on a revolver.

Today's #pixel_dailies theme was #fortress. So I made Bowser's Castle. I got totally inspired by SMB3's sprite, but the castle is from SMBU. @Pixel_Dailies

Beta Dragonair:
Dragonair's Japanese name is Hakuryū, meaning "White Dragon." His name appears to be a reference to his original beta design -- back when he was white, rather than blue.

Beta Lickilicky:
Gold & Silver's 1997 demo included an evolved form of Lickitung that ended up getting cut from Gen 2. But Lickitung eventually got a redesigned evolution in Gen 4.

I was too lazy to recolor archnines mane when I refound the sprite, but archlithe and Archnine be looking cute. Fusion between the Growlithe and Archen line.
So, in my infinite stupidity, I made a promise that if Mangs could actually finish his Shadow Dragon Ironman run that i'd draw another Catria Fullbody sprite, and well, here's a Fullbody Catria. Congrats to him for the win ^-^.

Beta Mareep:
In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Mareep was originally pink. He was later changed to yellow for G&S's release version, but pink was repurposed as his Shiny color.

Beta Tangrowth:
In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Tangela had an evolution named Jaranra. He was cut from Gen 2, but he finally returned in Gen 4 -- but with a new name and a new design.

Beta Ledyba:
In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Ledyba and Ledian weren't linked by evolution data. It seems they were originally rivals -- but later, were revised into relatives.
